The style of the 1998 Chevy S10 Blazer was updated with a new grille, fascia, bumpers and clusters. To provide more support and adjustability, seating was redesigned. The instrument panel center was redesigned along with a full length floor console.

 

The other changes for the Chevy S10 '98 had included two safety features: passenger's side air bag and the four-wheel disc brakes. The all-wheel drive option was removed. Also included was the Passlock theft deterrent, automatic exterior lamp control, and next-generation driver and right-front-passenger airbags were introduced.

 

The luxury edition of the GMC Jimmy was introduced and called Envoy. The intro of the Envoy with the Jimmy SLT quality plus two-tone leather interior, wood trim, auto leveling suspension, high intensity headlights and the Onstar system. which provided Envoy owners with directions and 24 hour access to advisors via satellite and cell phones. The Bravada had its SmartTrak system which ran in rear wheel drive under normal conditions directing power to the wheels with the best grip on the front or rear.
